Rebecca O’Brien took the bus to and from her cancer treatments and did the most logical next thing: She wrote a show about it, ‘Getting There,’ performed it in the Hollywood Fringe Festival, and won the top award for Best One Person Show. And that’s how we say a big F U to cancer, people. Rebecca shares her journey — literally, it was a journey — and how it changed her perspective on the world and the fellow humans inhabiting it with her. She’s equal parts hilarious and introspective and her story is what this show is all about: Finding the light in the darkness to prove there is good.
