The Saugus Marching Centurions have a good goal: To journey to and play in our nation’s capitol this Memorial Day. So how do they get there? One competition at a time. Join our good guests, high school band mom Jackie MacDougall and high school band member Raquel Atilano, as they share their story of triumph and tribulation. It hasn’t been an easy path as they’ve had to handle the repeated change out of band directors and a school shooting. And through their love of music, they have found friendship, community, and a greater purpose. Plus we talk about how Jackie launched an entire podcast documenting the band and its evolution, first musical instruments and endeavors, and yes, the Bionic Woman also comes up because how could she not? Strike up the band, y’all, and get ready to march.
