Shelly Tygielski is a 2020 CNN Hero, the founder of Pandemic of Love, Co-Founder of Partners in Kind, and she just happens to live in Asheville, North Carolina. Yep. THAT Asheville. The same one that bore the brunt of Hurricane Helene. Nothing could have prepared her for this catastrophe, one that she is still living through and in. We talk the reality of living without running water, cell phones, electricity, what it’s like to see your community this damaged, and how through it all, anyone of us can be a helper, even now as the need is still there.
